Hi there! Welcome to my page! I am so delighted and grateful that you are here. My name is Fiona Hastings, I am a visual artist and Fine Arts student at Pepperdine University. I am incredibly grateful to share my passion for art, particularly oil painting, which has been my primary medium for the past eight years. My artistic vision is deeply inspired by nature and people, often manifesting as whimsical landscapes, reflections on environmental issues, or heartfelt portraits.
At the heart of my creative process is a desire for connection. I find that expressing myself through art strengthens my bonds with others, and my hope is that viewers will discover a personal resonance within my work. My hope is for anyone who sees my art, feels they can resonate with at least one aspect of the piece, and in turn, feel more connected to the world and people around them. As I believe art is a profound mode of communication.
My greatest artistic inspirations come from Surrealist, Renaissance, and Impressionist paintings. I'm especially amazed by whimsical and otherworldly pieces, and the intriguing blend of realistic imagery with fantastical elements. The driving forces behind my art are consistently nature, intuition, and connection. I'm fascinated by the harmony of these themes and the science that underpins how we can use them to foster deeper relationships with the people we love. In terms of artistic mediums, oil painting is my medium of choice, as I love the freedom you have when creating with it. However, I truly believe in the importance of continuous growth, and always seeking new methods of creating. I instinctively gravitate towards bright, vibrant colors, because they bring me an immense amount of joy and fulfillment. And ultimately, my purpose in creating art is to connect with people, offering them an opportunity to relate to my pieces in a deeply personal way, whether through a nostalgic seascape or a surrealist work that sparks a more magical perspective on life.
